Biography
Mezzo-soprano, cellist, and architect

Maria Jurado Obradors (Puig-reig, Barcelona) is a mezzo-soprano, architect, and cellist who has been building her career with dedication and a deep passion for music. She has been awarded the Amics del Liceu Prize at the 62nd Tenor Viñas International Singing Competition and has been selected for the 3rd edition of the CIOS Ópera Studio in Córdoba to perform the role of Maddalena and Giovanna in Rigoletto. She has also received other international recognitions such as the Belcanto Academia Prize in Italy, the Cosmopolis Festival Prize in Greece, and the Mirna Lacambra Competition Prize in Sabadell.

She performs operatic roles such as Flora in Verdi's La Traviata, Mercedes in Bizet's Carmen, and Dritte Dame in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, with appearances in emblematic venues such as the Palau de la Música Catalana. She also stands out in international festivals with roles such as Dorabella in Così fan tutte in Greece and Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro in Madrid.

In the world of zarzuela, she performs roles such as Raquel in La Corte del Faraón and Maya in Don Gil de Alcalá.

She is a member of renowned choirs such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu Chorus and the Chamber Choir of the Palau de la Música Catalana, and she was a member of the National Youth Choir of Catalonia, where she also stood out as a soloist.

She has a stable duo with pianist Miquel Villalba, with whom she offers Lied and opera recital programs.

She has enriched her training with studies in body expression, including the Cos-Art method by Yiya Díaz, as well as free dance, with a focus on free movement inspired by the techniques of Malkovsky and Isadora Duncan. These disciplines complement her musical education and enhance her stage performance.

Maria began her musical journey at the Polifònica de Puig-reig, where maestro Ramon Noguera awakened her interest in singing. She then continued her education at the Municipal Conservatory of Music of Barcelona, where she specialized in cello, and completed her studies with a Bachelor’s Degree in Voice at the Conservatory of the Liceu in Barcelona, under the guidance of Dolors Aldea. In parallel, she obtained a Degree in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, thus combining her passion for art with rigorous technical training.

She is currently continuing to develop her operatic career with a firm commitment to artistic excellence.
